Laboratory Services

Renaissance Laboratories at DHR Health offers patients access to the largest state of the art hospital laboratory in South Texas, providing the most comprehensive, highest quality, and timely delivery of patient care results. As a competitive advantage, we perform the majority of testing on-site, processing samples 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Renaissance Laboratories provides the best turnaround times locally available due to the advanced instrumentation and automated systems used in sample receiving, tracking, and retrieving. Test results are also rapidly available and delivered to clients through a client portal and/or electronic medical record connectivity.

Services

Allergy and Immunology

The Clinical Laboratory offers a test menu of over 100 different allergens as well as autoimmune testing (such a celiac disease, antinuclear antibody screening and cascades).

Chemistry/Special Chemistry

The Clinical Laboratory has a comprehensive selection of routine, high-volume automated clinical chemistry tests as well as a diverse menu of serological tests, endocrine/hormone analysis, tumor markers, transplant drug monitoring, and others.

Fetal Risk Assessment

The Clinical Laboratory is the only local laboratory that offers only in house test that utilizes multiple markers for screening and has become a standard tool used in obstetrical care to identify pregnancies that may have an increased risk for certain birth defects, including Open spine abifida, neural tube defects (NTD), trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), and trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome).

Hematology, Coagulation and Urinalysis Testing

The Clinical Laboratory offers a range of routine and specialized analyses for Hematology, coagulation and urinalysis.

Infectious Diseases

The Clinical Laboratory offers an extensive menu of infectious disease testing that complements the services of hospital laboratories that complements the services of hospital laboratories.

Microbiology

The Clinical Laboratory offers a full-service clinical microbiology section with parasitology, bacteriology, epidemiologic typing, and susceptibility testing.

Molecular Testing

The Clinical Laboratory offers a range of testing for the latest in molecular based techniques such as PCR.
