ACRI – Advanced Clinical Research Institute (ACRI) Summer Program Application

DHR Health High School & Community Outreach Programs invites students to apply for the Advanced Clinical Research Institute (ACRI) Summer Program.

Program Description:
ACRI is a two-week summer program for students in grades 9–12 that provides broad exposure to healthcare through expert-led presentations, clinical skills stations, research education, and hands-on learning opportunities. The program is designed to help students explore various healthcare pathways while building foundational skills in professionalism, communication, and research.

Cohort 1: June 15 – June 26, 2026

Career Compass – Summer Program Application

DHR Health High School & Community Outreach Programs invites students to apply for the Career Compass Summer Program.

Program Description:
Career Compass is a summer program designed for high school students interested in healthcare who are seeking a hands-on, immersive experience. The program emphasizes shadowing and exposure to both clinical and operational healthcare settings, allowing students to gain a realistic understanding of various healthcare careers.

Dates:
Cohort 1: July 6 – July 10, 2026
Cohort 2: July 13 – July 17, 2026

Tuition Waiver Opportunity

The Summer Tuition Scholarship supports students enrolled in DHR Health’s ACRI or Career Compass summer programs. Scholarships are awarded based on eligibility, availability, and committee review.

Program Description:
This scholarship provides financial assistance to help students explore healthcare pathways through hands-on training, real-world exposure, and guided career exploration.

Important Dates:
Application Deadline: April 30, 2026
Selection Completed: Mid-May 2026
Announcement Date: Last Week of May 2026

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be registered for ACRI or Career Compass (Summer 2026)
  • Must be a high school student (freshman–senior)

Pathways to Excellence Scholarship

The Pathways to Excellence Scholarship supports Rio Grande Valley high school seniors who have engaged with DHR Health programs or initiatives. Scholarships are awarded based on eligibility, availability, and committee review.

Program Description:
This scholarship provides financial assistance to help students pursue college, trade school, or certification pathways while encouraging future careers in healthcare and related fields.

Award Amount: $1,000
Number of Recipients: 20

Important Dates:
Application Deadline: April 30, 2026
Selection Completed: Mid-May 2026
Awards Distributed: Late May 2026

Eligibility Requirements:
High school seniors from the Rio Grande Valley who have:

  • Participated in a DHR Health program, or
  • Participated in a DHR Health–affiliated school or community initiative

H.E.A.L. – Health Education Advancement for Leaders Registration

The H.E.A.L. Program is an educational initiative designed to introduce participants to healthcare careers through structured rotations that emphasize foundational knowledge, safety, and real-world application. The program focuses on helping participants understand how different healthcare disciplines contribute to patient care and community health.
