Jose Luis Valdes, MD

Biography

DHR Health proudly welcomes Jose Luis Valdes, MD to its esteemed group of physicians at DHR Health Transplant Institute. As a Transplant Nephrologist, Dr. Valdes Bracamontes will evaluate and manage the care of patients before and after kidney transplant surgery. He joins the Rio Grande Valley’s only kidney transplant center.

Originally from Zacatecas, Mexico, Dr. Valdes is fluent in English and Spanish. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas Unidad Académica de Medicina y Ciencias de la Salud in Mexico. After medical school, he completed physician residency training in Internal Medicine at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, New York. He completed a Nephrology Fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he also completed an additional Fellowship in Transplant Nephrology. Dr. Valdes has additional experience working in various healthcare provider positions.
