Biography
Dr. Kip Owen specializes in orthopaedic surgery procedures as well as non-operative treatment of athletic injuries. He is dual Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Owen has practiced at DHR since 2001.
Dr. Owen received his Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy. He served eight years of active duty as a Fleet Fighter Pilot and retired from the U.S. Navy in 2002. Dr. Owen graduated from the Texas A&M College of Medicine in 1988 with honors. He completed his residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Dr. Owen then completed his orthopaedic training with a Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Knee Reconstruction in Eugene, Oregon.
Dr. Owen is a member of multiple orthopaedic societies and served on the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine national Team Physician Committee. He is also a Faculty member of the UTRGV Community & Family Medicine and Internal Medicine residency programs.
