Biography

Tomasz Rogula, MD, PhD, FACS, is an innovator in bariatric surgery techniques and research. Dr. Rogula is a leader in research focused on weight-loss surgery procedures and successful clinical outcomes. In addition to bariatric surgery, his specialties include advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and hernia repair.
Dr. Rogula graduated from the Jagiellonian University School of Medicine in Krakow, Poland, where he also completed his residency in general surgery. He completed his fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and led research programs at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, New York, and at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Rogula is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO), and the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), and the Polish Society of Surgeons.
Dr. Rogula has published over 200 articles and book chapters in the field of bariatric surgery and is the president and founder of the largest global organization for bariatric surgeons, the International Bariatric Club at Oxford University.
